The world of aviation gathered last week in Amsterdam for this year’s edition of the Aviation Festival and we had the opportunity to hear how Air Malta is taking this time as the moment of truth for digital commerce. Antonella Zirilli, Head of Digital Commerce and Distribution of Air Malta, Ursula Silling, CEO of Branchspace, and David Turton, CTO of Branchspace talked about it on the first day of the festival.

At the recent Women in Venture Capital event hosted by Gresham House Ventures, it was highlighted that only 2% of VC funding in the UK goes to female-founded companies, with women receiving significantly less funding than men. Despite this, research suggests that companies with female leadership often outperform, with women-led startups generating higher revenue per investment and enhancing company culture and employee engagement. However, the technology sector remains underrepresented by women, particularly in senior roles, and global gender parity remains far off, projected to close in 131 years. Branchspace champions diversity, with 40% of its workforce being women and continuing to push for gender equality across its teams.
