Segment of the Trip
In the context of air travel, a segment of the trip refers to an individual portion or flight segment of a passenger’s overall journey. For example, in a round trip from City A to City B and back to City A, each one-way journey between City A and City B is considered a separate segment of the trip. Segments are relevant for ticket pricing, mileage accumulation, and flight routing. “Segment” of the trip refers to each individual booking or flight coupon that represents a specific part of the passenger’s overall itinerary, and it can include either direct flights or connecting flights.
